6” Calathea Lancifolia Shown

Calathea Lancifolia, Rattlesnake Plant, has wavy leaves with exquisite markings and gorgeous magenta purple on the underside of the leaves. Calatheas are often called 'prayer plants' because of their unique leaf movements: they raise and lower their leaves from day to night as a part of their circadian rhythm. This phenomenon is called nyctinasty.

  • LIGHT: Thrives in medium to bright indirect light, but can tolerate low indirect light.

  • WATER: Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out half way down between waterings. Increase frequency with increased light.

  • FERTILIZE: Feed the plant monthly during the growing season as part of your rattlesnake plant care regimen using a diluted solution of a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.

Contactless delivery available in SF, Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley, Albany and Alameda. Free for orders over $30. $10 delivery fee for elsewhere in the Bay. Pick ups can be arranged in West Oakland.
